Season 7 originally aired in 2009 and consists of 8 episodes all dealing with airplane accidents. There were a total of 1238 fatalities in this season.

Episode 1 - Operation Babylift


  • On 4 April 1975, a Lockheed C-5A Galaxy participating in Operation Babylift suffered explosive decompression and crashed while attempting an emergency landing at Tan Son Nhat airport.

Episode 2 - Blown Apart


  • On 8 September 1989, Partnair Flight 394 drove into the sea, killing 55 people. The crash was caused by installing non-genuine spare parts.

Episode 3 - Scratching the Surface


  • On 25 May 2002, China Airlines Flight 611 disintegrated in mid-air and crashed into the Taiwan Strait just 20 minutes after taking off, killing 225 people. The cause of the crash was due to improper repairs to the aircraft 22 years earlier.

Episode 4 - Lockerbie


  • On 21 December 1988, Pan Am Flight 103 exploded in mid-air with the debris falling on the town of Lockerbie, killing 270 people. The explosion was caused by a bomb in the forward cargo compartment.

Episode 5 - Crash Course


  • On 12 November 1996, Saudi Arabian Airlines Flight 763 and Air Kazakhstan Flight 1907 collided in mid-air, killing 349 people.

Episode 6 - Falling Fast


  • On 6 August 2005, Tuninter Flight 1153 ran out of fuel and ditched into the sea, killing 16 people. The aircraft did not have the correct amount of fuel on board because of the installation of the wrong fuel gauge.

Episode 7 - Flight 574: Lost


  • On 1 January 2007, Adam Air Flight 574 crashed into the Makassar Strait, killing 102 people. The crew inadvertently disengaged the autopilot while trying to fix the inertial reference system, causing the plane to plunge to the water.

Episode 8 - Frozen in Flight


  • On 31 October 1994, American Eagle Flight 4184 fell out of the sky, killing 68 people. The crash was caused by icing on the wings and a design flaw in the de-icing equipment which failed to remove the ice.
